The corrosion resistant properties of PVC are maintained throughout the material, whereas FRP relies on a resin-rich surface which could easily be applied too thinly, or become broken or cracked. Once the surface has been undermined, the corrosive chemicals can easily attack the internals of the duct wall, causing extensive damage that can go unnoticed for long periods of time.
Replacing impact-damaged FRP often requires the removal and replacement of large sections of duct. Damaged P.V.C. duct, on the other hand, can be repaired with a simple weld or a "patch" that can either be welded or cemented in place.
KCH offers corrosion resistant duct for use in various applications. Download our Duct Brochure for more information, or request a quote below.
